The World Handicap System (WHS) was introduced in 2020 to allow golfers of different abilities to play and compete on a fair and equal basis at any course, against golfers from their own and other golf clubs.

Your round is given a Score Differential based on your day’s score, the difficulty of the course and the weather conditions on the day. The average from the best eight Score Differentials from your last 20 rounds are then calculated to provide you a Handicap Index.

A course’s difficulty is rated using a Slope Rating from the easiest at 55 to the hardest at 155. The average is 113 and at Cleckheaton, our Blue Tee set up is rated 129.
