NEW LOCAL RULES ANNOUNCED

With immediate effect, we now have a new set of local rules. To read them in full, click the link below, but please read on if you'd like to find out more about the changes.

LOCAL RULES >

Our new Local Rules will not be on the reverse of the cards until such time as we have to order new cards, which is likely to be around the end of the 2022.

Members, please keep a copy in your bag or on your phone for reference. Visitors will be advised of the changes.

The main changes are, that the wordings have been brought up to date in line with the R&A's recommended Local Rules BUT there are also some changes worth pointing out:

5TH HOLE

B-2.1 When it is known or virtually certain that a player’s ball is in the red penalty area of the 5th hole and the ball last crossed the edge of the penalty area on the green side, as an extra relief option to Rule 17.1d, the player may drop the original ball or another ball on the opposite side of the penalty area. The reference is the adjacent point on the opposite edge of the penalty area to the estimated point where the original ball last crossed the edge of the red penalty.

So, now you have an additional option to drop within two club lengths on the tee side of the stream if your ball has crossed over and entered the stream from the green side.

GENERAL

F-5 When their ball is in the General Area, the player may take relief under Rule 16.1b if a Sprinkler Head is on the line of play and is within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball, unless the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.

F-1c Tracks caused by vehicles around the 9th & behind the 18th Greens and along the course boundary edge of the 9th Hole, are treated as immovable obstructions from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1.

So, free relief is allowed from vehicle tracks around the 9th hole and at the back of 18 - this will save constant marking of GUR. Please remember, you are not allowed free relief from tyre tracks anywhere else on the course, unless marked GUR.
