COURSE DRAINAGE DEVELOPMENT PLAN
For the past two years, the Club have been working on a drainage plan for the course, which I’m sure after this winter’s relentless wet weather, will be well received.
This is as a result of a full topography survey of the whole course which has enabled us to establish where drains should be placed for best effect.
Our drainage plan will be a long-term project, starting with Hole One. This will be used to test the process before work is undertaken on other holes.
The work will take place this summer, which means Hole One will be out of play from Monday to Friday for one or two weeks.
To undertake the work, we’ve selected Turf Dry, a professional golf course drainage Company. They will provide the labour, materials and machinery needed.
The drainage trenches will be filled with special Plastic Drainpipes called ‘Hydro way’, which is specifically designed to allow a longer life by preventing blockages in the drainage channels.
This is a significant undertaking by Cleckheaton Golf Club for the longevity of the course in winter and for the benefit of Members and Visitors for years to come.
Drawings and further details are available in the Clubhouse if you’d like to find out more.
