CAPTAIN'S REPORT
Summer is here!
Captain’s Day on the 14th of June was a fantastic success. The weather stayed favourable, the food served at the halfway house and in the evening was excellent, and Jukebox Idols, the live band, kept everyone dancing well into the early hours.
A big thank you goes to our Lady Captain for her tireless efforts selling raffle tickets throughout the day, to Wendy Buckley for her invaluable help in the halfway house, and to my wife and family, who worked relentlessly from morning until night to support the event.
I’d also like to extend a huge thank you to all members who generously donated bottles for the raffle and to everyone who bought tickets or made donations. Thanks to your incredible support, we raised a staggering £1,569 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Congratulations to all the prize winners on the day, with special recognition to Dan Lax, who won the Captain’s Prize.
The course was in superb condition, and I’d like to thank Paul and his team for their hard work in ensuring it was presented at its best.
Club Team Updates
The Scratch Team suffered their first loss of the season to a very strong Bingley St. Ives last week but remain in third position.
The 8–15s Team is still unbeaten, though the points are very close across the division. it’s shaping up to be decided in the final game.
The Ladies Section has had a mixed season so far, with the Scratch Team losing their first two games, while the A and B Teams have recorded one win each, with the B Team also securing a draw.
The Club Captain’s Quiz Nights will continue throughout the summer. The next one takes place this Thursday, 19th June. Bring along friends and family for what promises to be an enjoyable evening.
Don’t forget to apply the sun lotion……It’s looking hot!!! 🥵🥵🥵🥵
