FIRST HOLE DRAINAGE WORKS

On Thursday the 22nd August, preliminary works will take place on the first hole, so it will be closed for play. It will be open Friday for the Pro Am.

Work on the first hole drainage will begin on Tuesday 27th August, so the first hole will be closed Monday to Friday until the work is finished. The 1st Hole will be open as usual on weekends.

Exceptions may be possible during mid-week for the forthcoming Knock Out Finals. Advice will follow shortly for those matches.

We will keep you advised of further closures as work progresses, but while the trenches repair, they will be regarded as ‘No Play Zones’ under Rule 16.1.

Rule 16.1f
The Drainage Trenches on the first hole are regarded as No Play Zones.
If your ball, area of intended stance or area of intended swing are affected by the Drainage Trenches, relief MUST be taken under Rule 16.1b.

Rule 16.1b
You MUST take free relief by dropping the original ball or another ball in this relief area.
Reference Point: The nearest point of complete relief in the general area, no nearer the hole.
Relief Area: One club-length from the Reference Point, but with these limits:

-Must be in the general area,
-Must not be nearer the hole than the reference point, and
-There must be complete relief from all interference by the Drainage Trenches.
